Calculator inputs: Calculations run directly in your browser. Entering an amount does not send it to a calculator server or save it in an account. If you choose to copy a share link, the amount is included in that link, as explained below.
Hosting and optional analytics
Cloudflare hosts this website and processes technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and protect it. Calculator arithmetic runs in your browser.
Google Analytics 4 loads only after you select “Allow analytics”. If you reject analytics or have not chosen, our analytics integration sends no requests to Google. We use it to see which pages people visit, which websites they arrive from and the types of devices they use. Google receives technical data such as your IP address when your browser contacts its service and may process data outside South Africa.
The page address sent to Analytics excludes anything after a question mark or hash symbol, including shared amounts. For referrals, we send only the source website’s origin, not its full page address. We do not send calculator amounts, income, savings, loan figures or form contents as analytics events. Automatic enhanced measurement, Google signals and advertising personalisation are disabled.
With your permission, Google Analytics uses first-party cookies beginning with _ga to tell browser visits apart. These cookies are set to expire after 180 days, and a new visit does not extend that period. We store your analytics choice in this browser for 180 days. This preference storage is used only to remember your choice.
You can change your mind at any time using “Analytics choices” in the footer. Selecting “Reject analytics” stops this integration, removes its accessible Analytics cookies and reloads the page when needed. Changing your choice stops future collection. It does not automatically erase data already processed. Browser privacy controls can also clear cookies and site storage.

Advertising and consent
HowMuchSA is applying to Google AdSense but does not currently load AdSense advertising scripts or display paid advertisements. Our AdSense ownership verification meta tag and ads.txt publisher declaration do not themselves serve ads or set advertising cookies.
If advertising is introduced, Google and relevant advertising partners may process information and use cookies or similar technologies for ad delivery, measurement and personalisation. Before activating ads, we will update this policy with the applicable providers, purposes and choices, and configure an appropriate advertising consent process, including a Google-certified consent management platform where required.
Separate choices: The “Analytics choices” button currently controls optional Google Analytics only. Agreeing to analytics does not give permission for personalised advertising.
Shareable results: If you choose “Copy a link with this amount”, the link includes the amount you entered. Anyone with that link may see the figure, and visiting it may place that value in a browser history or hosting access log. Avoid using share links for private financial amounts.
